ive looked on a few sites and i was wandering if anyone on here has seen or have converted the rear drums to disc on a toy pickup rear axle. if so what parts from what vehicle was used, year model ect.

95 (i think) nissan pathfinder. 6 lug, 4wheel disc brakes from the factory. You can probably pick up a complete rear axle with the rotors, calipers and other poo fairly cheap.

i used a bolt on bracket i got from a friend, with 1/2 ton 4x4 chevy truck rotors and monte carlo calipers. i dont know where he got the bracket from though.

You could use a 12 bolt rear from a trooper.....They are beef and have stock 455 gears and disc brakes

PM toywelder on Pirate4x4, I bought my brackets from him that run stock staright axle rotors and calipers. Then up upgrade the fronts to Ifs calipers with vented cruiser rotors for all toyota brake system....

thanks i already got my 4 link all welded up to the ifs rear axle i put in so no axle swap for me now gonna stick to toyota stuff. ill look into this thanks guys

sky manufacturing makes brackets. His stuff is good and fairly cheap compared to others.

pm lbyota85 or "Landon" he's a toy wiz and also makes the Beardshafts. he just did this to the rear of his with stock front parts. He can give u the details.

you use the factory solid axle front rotors but u have to put them on a lathe and turn them down on the flange where the hub normall sets.. then make the bracket to hold them and the factory solid axle front calpiers will work.

now i have been reading and people say if you put rear disc on you have to upgrade the master cylnder cause it cant handle the rear disc, is this true and if so what have you guys done?

That is correct. You need to install an FJ80 MC. They have rear disks factory and its a direct bolt on. It is a 1" bore as opposed to a 13/16" and it has a built in residual valve.

I have ran my stock MC since I did my rear disk swap for the last few years and the brakes worked great until I blew out a front brake line and for some reason since then no matter how much I bleed them the brakes are very spongy, what year FJ80??

MC itself needs to be bench bled.

OP Sorry I don't know of a cheap disc swap for a yota rear.
