laptop running vista

every time i hit the left shift key for a cap the help program for whatever app i'm in loads

i have googled till i'm blue and can't see how to fix this

any tips from a nc4x4 guru
 
What kind of laptop?
Soudns like a default "hotkey".
is thsi a new thing that just started, or did it come like that?

left shift brings up help apps

right shift turns on caps lock

other than that every thing seems to be normal
 
Kinda fixed it :)

Did some registry editing to remap the shift keys. Now the left and right shift keys work as they should. Not sure what other problems I may run into. Only thing I've found so far is that Shift+1 gives me nothing, instead of the exclamation point? Not sure what's going on with all that, and I do like the exclamation point but I'd rather have the shift keys work so.....

If any computer genius out there knows what is going on with this let me know(exclamation point)
