The motor in my 2016 ford f650 6.7 with air brakes the cp4 locked up and slipped the gear on the crank and took out the valve train on both heads.
I need a motor and where my truck has air brakes the block is different than f250 to f550 or even with f650 and f750 with hydraulic brakes to mount the air compressor to it. 2016 and 2017 f650 or f750 with air brakes is the only years that will work according to jasper engines.
Nobody has one that i can find that will work in my truck.
I have been calling engine shops to build mine because nobody has the block like i need so i have to send them mine to build. Here is a few company's i have talked to let me know if you have had any dealing with these company's good or bad. Or know of a good engine shop?
Jaspers said it will 10 to 12 weeks turn around 3 year warranty unlimited miles Not sure on the up grades they do the engine . Will have another talk to them about that. Roughly $10000.00 to build a long block.
Killdevil diesel talked to them the have a few different levels offered around $12000.00 for a long block they said it would be at least 6 week turn around depending on my motor.
Choate Engineering Performance They have a work engine package deal that has all the problems worked out {they say} i like it is going to be about $19000.00 for a long block about 6 week turn around.
Choate or killdevil has a 5 year and 100000 mile warranty cant remember will have to recheck them.
I plan to keep this truck till i retire in several years i put around 25000 a year on the truck also going to pull the trans and put a new one in at the same time Already have the DEF redone and put a new rearend in about 500 miles ago new turbo about 700 mile ago have a new S&S DCR pump kit to replace the cp4 pump $2000.00 for it I have put about $20,000.00 in this truck this year already I like to keep my trucks in good shape so i don't have to worry much about it on the road.
But it is paid for and in good shape all around. I priced a new truck like it and is $180.000.00 + new.
So i going to put about another $25,000.00 in it and i should have about new truck then that should last as long as me i hope.
Looked and used truck and they keep telling me i going to buy someone's else's problems so i will keep mine and fix it .
The cause of all this problem is because Ford used a pressed-on gear on the crank and didn't put a keyway to hold it from slipping when the junk cp4 pump locked up and took out the whole engine...
