I've been looking online at 24-28' bumper pull enclosed trailers, I've about gone cross eyed with all of the options. Now before you say just go with a name brand unit, I've compared the bigger names to some of the smaller companies and construction appears to be about the same. Has anyone had any experience or spoken to anyone with these trailer companies in GA and FL? Any input would be appreciated and by the way I'm trying to tow two sxs' and have some room for storage.

@Ron

I have a 12yo Haulmark. It needs a few things here and there, but overall very happy with it.

I know folks that have had the whole ramp door tear off the trailer while underway. Know of trailers with bent doors, bent frames, etc. It's a competitive market, and you definitely get exactly what you paid for, and not much else.

My brother in law bought one from somewhere in Georgia about 6 years ago. Said it was the cheapest prices he found. It was a 28' bumper pull. Seemed well built but he sold it about 2 years ago and got a 16' instead. We used it for construction equipment so not a lot of weight in it often.

I assume Shawn called me out because when I was heavy in the market I went down to a place in GA. Cant recall exactly where, but I remember basically driving 75 all the way to Macon and then going West probably 30 miles. So if you are looking at someone and they fit that general description this might be helpful.

Basically they advertised a 32' GN with factory LQ for around $12k out the door minus generator. Which wasnt a problem for me and wouldnt be for you either of course.

Problem was when I got down there they were pretty much garbage when I looked at the few price point spec models pre built for sale. As I talked to the sales guy everything I was concerned about (dual axle instead of tri, 24" on center walls, floor thickness, etc) was an option. They could in fact build me a very nice trailer, comparable to anything the big names put out. But when they added all the options up they were the same or higher as the name brands.

THey were also private labeling for 8-10 different companies on site and as you walked through you saw the different name badges.

You get what you pay for, plan and simple. I went with a new ATC, fit and finish is the best I've seen. Trailers of the east coast sells them and many other brands to do a side by side comparison.

IMHO, steer clear of those cheap ones in GA.

I think the choice depends on what you plan to use it for, much like a winch selection...

If you plan to use it daily with heavy loads, then a high $ trailer may be the ticket. If you plan to use it 5-6 times a year with moderate load, then the $ saved on a cheap trailer may be worth it for the little it will be used.

Honestly, I almost purchased a 28' bumper pull from that GA place that @Ron talked about. The price was right and for what I was going to use it for and for the limited weight I'd have in there, it was perfect. Basically, i could buy a new trailer after several years of use and still be $ ahead than buying a high $ trailer.

I knew I was going to modify it anyway, so I just looked for a cheap shell that fit my needs. Everyone's needs are different and should be considered with a trailer selection
