I'm trying to figure out how much lift my '92 4runner has, so I can figure out how to go about lowering it(didn't figure this was really tech). Anyone with a similar year stocker that could measure the length of the rear coils at ride height?

I would really appreciate it, thanks!

IIRC there have been a couple threads on this issue on Yotatech.com

Another way to go about it is to work backwards - can you tell what on it isn't stock? Is it like super jacked now?
if it's still IFS, there's only a few ways the front could be lifted - BJ spacers 1.5", or bracket lift will be exactly 3" or 4", other than that it's just t-bar adjustment.

Solid axle swapped, so that won't help me. It need to be lowered in the front as well.

Id does have 4" drop brackets in the rear, but it surely has to be lifted more than 4", this thing is really tall.

Thanks for the ideas, i will see if i can search yotatech, never been over there.

i dont no how much lower u can go in the front then, dependin on what springs they used. shoot a picture of the springs up front and the rear. then we could help ya a little better

Definitely room to lower it in the front, I will build my own leaf packs, but these have 3-4 inches of arch in them. I will get some pictures this weekend I guess, I don't have the luxury of being home in the daylight these days...

Part of the problem is that the SAS nets several inches over stock even if you use stock springs in the front, it has to do with the way the springs and mounts land on the frame etc...from what I understand it's virtually impossible to do a SAS and end up w/o a bunch of lift. E.g. SASed Runner != height to stock 85.
IIRC most of the common SAS "kits" come w/ blocks or something else for the rear just to compensate.
Nots sure what you mean by "drop brackets" in the rear?

I promise I'm not trying to be an asshole, but I assure you I know the ramifications of drop hangers and the frame shape making SAS trucks higher than factory solid axle trucks. All I am really trying to figure out is the stock coil length in the rear. I tried searching Yotatech and found tons of info about every rear lift combo in existance, but couldn't find info about the stockers... I feel sure it is in that site somewhere, and I plan to look again tonight.

As for drop brackets, I'm talking about brackets that drop the front mounting points of the rear links down 4" for better geometry with a lift. Still retains the short factory control arms.

I just went out and measured my rear coils, they are both sitting around 16.5" at ride height.

Thanks guys!
