Need help identifying a locker

So I bought a used Detroit locker, and I am trying to make sure that it is a full locker (not a trutrac) and that the locker is for a 31 spline 8.8. The guy I bought it from said that it was, and I have no reason to doubt him, but I just want to verify it before I tear apart my axle.

There are no stamped numbers on the locker, instead only some etched on it. It looks like 176C 145A. From looking at new detroits I need a model number 187C 145A. I didn't know if anyone knew if the 176C is just an older version.

I can't seem to find that 176c serial number anywhere online.
