Like the title says, some random neighborhood cat likes to curl up on top of the old ladies car. Aside from scratches, I am worried about the top. She has a Liberty with one of those retractable cloth tops. So far the cat hasn't hurt it but I figure it won't be long before is starts digging it's claws in.

I really don't wanna hurt it because it is a pretty decent animal, friendly and calm. BUT, before I let it tear up the top......

I guess I could catch it and relocate it?

Any ideas?

They have some spray stuff that'll keep them away. I didn't believe it, but a buddy had the same problem with them getting under his boat cover and in the boat as well as just getting hair all over everything and pissing everywhere. He sprayed the boat and the cover and hasn't seen a cat since.

I prefer to use a .45, but that's just me.

Put a dog on the roof.

Tinfoil. Cats hate to walk on tinfoil. Best part is that you can re-use it and it doesn't get pepper granules in your rag top.

Oh... and when I say re-use it - I didn't mean wrapping your food in it after the cat has walked on it. I meant you can take it off and replace it the next day when you park.

I hate cats.

If you're going to go through the trouble of putting something on the car (spraying is much easier) I'd just get a big piece if cardboard an lay it on top. They won't like walking on that either.

But I'd just spray it as above, or get a water bottle and spray the cat when he's up there.

^^^^ That is freaking awesome!

I'd use a trap, and give the cat an all expenses paid relocation plan to a neighborhood 10 miles away.

Very clever there. I could get some entertainment out of that paired with some night vision goggles.

My preference would be this .....

But This is what I used for a few years at our old place to keep the strays at bay.

Have a Heart and a half opened can of cheap tuna in oil............... then fire up the lawnmower and put the trap beside it, it muffles the sound of the .22 (especially if your mower backfires occasionally) if that's an issue in your neighborhood when dealing w feral cats.

Thought about the black pepper but yeah that may be messy. The spray sounds pretty good. I really don't wanna kill it. I do like the idea of an air soft pistol, that sounds like it could be fun. After I get rid of the cat then I can sit around and shoot the old lady.

I'm a relocator personally. I would expect you to do the same if my dog were on your car every night.

Mouse traps..... now that would be ironic and funny.

Yeah @GotWood , I really don't wanna hurt it.

Just make sure you take on the other side of a river or large creek or it'll eventually come back. My grandpa used to tie paper bags full of rocks to their tails. I've never seen it done but he swears you'll never see a cat run so faster. They'd come back after a few months.
