I got my sights on a Lock Right that the ad lists it for either a Dana 70 or a Dana 80. Part number 2810-LR supposively same as 2710-LR according to seller? I can't find anything to back it up besides both are 35 spline. No dealer lists them as alternatives for each? Seems possible though? Any help?

Call East Coast Gear Supply here in Durham (919) 665-ECGS I'm sure they can get the answer for you.

I was holding out to call Chase even though he'll be doing the swap. He's busy as hell and STAYS on the phone... Was hoping someone just cruising the site leasurely knew the answer. I need to look up my BOM numbers on my axle to get my facts straight anyways. I got a few days to figure it out.

Here's what the seller responded with:
My suggestion would be to call richmond, the 2810 is only interchangeable with a 70HD, ie factory 35 spline late model unit. The dana 80 Hybrid is essentially a dana 80 with 70 outers, the carrier has a larger flange to accomodate the larger 80 ring gear, but the differential internal dimensions are the same. If you look around the internet you will find that the 2710 fits the 94-01 dodge 3500 pickups, even though some are equipped with a "dana 80 hybrid" rear axle. The reverse is also true. You could conclude that the 2810 may be larger in diameter, however you have to remember the 80 hybrid utilizes the same internal case diameter meaning if it was any larger it wouldn't fit in the hybrid unit, needless to say it fit in my case just dandy.

I believe the 2810 is basically discontinued, as it is the same part# as the 2710.

the dana D80 case internal dimensions (one piece only) is the same as a D70 so the spider gears are interchangeable as is the lockrights. a 2710 is interchangeable btween 35 spline 70 and 80 so presumably the 2810 is also.
