Need Help - Rim and hub fit?

Guys, I needs some advise.

The rims that I have for my D44 from a Scout II (late 70s). Seem to only make contact along the raised lip along the out of the portion of the inner rim and a very small spot of the inside of the rim. On the rim and hub housing you can see where it makes contact.

Is this designed to fit like this, or is it a safety concern?
