I just got a 2011 Suburban 2500 as a family vehicle. I also plan to use it as a tow rig and for volunteer SAR. I want to do some mild mods to it but can't seem to find any info. Most forums deal with older models. Anyone know any sources for late model Suburbans? I was planning a 2" lift and tires, but mainly was looking for decent UCP. Trailready makes a winch bumper that looks good but have no clue if they're any good. Anyone make a rear bumper? Rails? Any help would be appreciated. TIA.

if im not mistaken the burb is based off of the older chassis that is the same as the 03 2500 i had. Hence, leafs in the rear and torsion bars in the front. Throw some crank on those front bars (now keys they lift too much) and either a zero rate from ORD for an inch in the rear of if you like a little rake throw in a true aal. As for bumpers im pretty sure you are on your own for the rear, but i would imagine somebody makes something for the front. Prob for a half ton though so it will take a little finesse on the brackets. As for sliders. Measure how long you need them and check out trail gears site. they are listed for yotas but i have used them before on other stuff and just gone by lenght. They are good stuff and you cant beat the price. If the lenght is about what you need pm matt_85 on here he can get a good price. Then top it all off with a good tire. a 315 will squeeze but i ran a 295.

Great info jimbo. Thanks. I sat under the truck yesterday and saw that it was torsion/leaf setup. I was planning on cranking it some to level it for now. I will probably go with 295 too. Thanks again.

Do you just want looks mods or looking at performance also?

If you want some performance stuff hit up Mayhem Motorsports in Raleigh. Jeff and Jay know GM's like no other. Tell them Todd (that used to have the DSM's sent you). They will be on vacation next week. They will give you a lot of good ideas. They also do lifts, etc, but may not as much about bumpers and stuff for the newer ones.

I couldn't care less about looks. I'm interested in improving 4x4 performance and ruggedness. I want to beef up steering components and get some good ucp. I will definitely go chat with them and see if they can help out. Thanks for the info.
