Need help with a 86 Cj7

I'm trading my bike to a friend for his 86 Cj7 in Fl. I'm bring it back to nc Sat. My question is it has a 4 banger in it and I think T5 and dana 300. I know its a 5 speed and He start a 350 chevy conv. The motor is sitting in it and only needs the trans and little things. Will a 304 or 360 bolt up to a T5 out of a 86 CJ 7.... Thanks for any help.

It will bolt up but the T5 wont last very long. You need a stronger transmission.

I think the input gear on that one is different than what the 258 or amc v8 would use, and they are weak.

your best bet for a bolt up would be a 304/360 amd a tf727 from a wagoneer

I don't know if you want it, but I have a 700r4 with a 208 tranfercase, all rebuilt never been installed, the best for a chevy. the trans has HD rebuilt kit. starter,ring gear, center housing. frount drive line. ask for Diezel @ 704-453-9157
