I drove my 85 4runner to the flats today and noticed that my front tires are stopping me from full up travel they hit the rear inner fender about where the peddles are I have used a BFH to create as much room as possible I don't want any more lift and before you all say to cut it up it's cut up as much as i really want to I am thinking if I could push the front forward a inch or two that would fix it so what is the best way to achieve this

Not sure I've never done it. I know ecgs has a kit with offset plate and perch for swapping an 8.8 into an xj. I was considering doing it for mine but never did. You could make something or get a kit like that and adapt to work on yours.

If you just need to move it forward a little bit you can drill a new hole one inch -back on the spring pad.

Also what front springs are you running?
I know some springs like trailgear etc. Move the axle forward around 2in.

Drill a hole in the spring perch on the axle housing 1-1.5" behind the stock hole. Drill a hole the same distance in the spring plate. Check steering for binding between the drag link and tie rod. Your drive shaft will probably need to be extended.

I've ran these and had no problems. Seems easier to me than drilling a large hole in your spring pad. Still have to drill one in the u-bolt plate. Moves the axle either 3/4 or 1", depending on which direction you install them.

Although you said no, tubbing the firewall is really the only way to fix this on a Toyota.

The best way to do it so you can support more spring options is to weld in a new front spring hanger. Sky off road makes a low profile version that doesn't give much if any lift.

You diddnt use a big enough hammer.

I used a long handled sledge on an 83 pickup and was able to make room for 36 SX's with only a longer shackle and completely stock springs.
