NEED HELP WITH SOA

Newbie in the house.

All right guys, I finished my SOA and now I am moving to the shocks. I think I gained a total of 6 inches with the SOA running 35's on it. I need to find some shocks, can somebody help me with that, how long should I get them, I raised one side of the jeep with a floor jack and 12 inches of wood blocks and the oppossite side measured at 27" from the shock mount to the axle. What kind of shock should I get?

Also my front driver side brake line broke right below the brake fluid reservoir, I need to buy a replacement line but everyone I go to does not have prebent lines, should I get a straight line and bend it? How hard is it to do? How should I bend it? I know this are pretty simple questions but it is better to ask the gurus than make a costly and stupid mistake. Thanks for all of your help guys.

Just go flex your rig out in a ditch (or use your wood block method) and measure extended, static, and compressed lengths...then pick your favorite shop company and place and order.

Like Ricky said just bend 'em by hand, just be slow about it and make sure you don't pinch 'em shut.

Good advice. When Jason did his Jeep he called the guys down in Performance Off road and got real good results. I would give them a call.
 
When bending by hand, don't just grab it like your gonna break a stick. Point your thumbs at each other, touch the ends of your thumbs together and hold either end of the hard line in your hands and bend over your thumbs. Bend small amounts at a time and put a couple bends back and forth (zig zag) to allow the line to flex as your body does on the frame. I bought a piece of straight 40" (I think) line and did just that the other week. Take your old line with you to make sure you get the right size and correct fittings. Sometimes they have different size fittings on either end.
 
Or you can get a bender for about $10 and keep it in your toolbox.
 
Bend the lines right. Get a bender. You can rent one with the cutting tool and the flare tool at auto parts stores for the amazing price of free. To make the coils that are near the master cylinder just wrap the line around a soup can. Congrats on the lift.

For me, only the fully compressed length matters at all. Choose the shock that's closest to (but not more than) the compressed length, and run it. Any shorter and you lose extension, any longer and you'll bottom the shock.

That is the same thing the guys at Jacksonville 4x4 said to me. I will go a head and measure and order the shocks then. Thank you very much everyone for the advice. I place project picture on the gallery section. More pics to come. Thank you guys.
