A while back I bought a Hydroboost unit froma member on here cant remember who and finally got around to installing it. My old one was leaking like a seive.

The replacement has a much chorter pedal rod and I am wondering if I can swap them. I cannot find anything online about how to remove the rods. I dont want to damage either of them if I dont have to.

Any help will be appreciated. If I cant figure anything out I will take them down to the weld shop and see if they can do anything to help

Be VERY careful welding on the pushrod depending on what type of hydroboost unit it is. There is a seal at the end of the S10/astro van type setup that is very easy to fry with any heat at all.

zAfter looking at an internal diagram I nixed the welding idea. I thought about threading the rod and putting them together but as thin as they are it would be a weak point. I found a good unit for $73 from a friend.

Best I can remember the the rod is pinned in three spots. I drilled those spots out to remove and there was enough material left to pin with center punch to reuse. I hope that helps a little.
