I have had lifted trucks all my drivable life but I have recently purchased a truck with bigger axles, I have a dana 50 up front and a 10.25 full floater? I believe. just wanting to pick everyones brain on those axles on what gears come stock in them what gears I should use to push the 44"s comfortably and maybe some input on re-gearing these big guys. I have a spare 10.25 same axle as the one installed it's been modified a little the owner said it has 4.10 gears in it what should I do with it change them or fix it up and slap it on?

I'm assuming it's an F250. It's probably got something around 3.73-4.10. I'd run a 4.88 or a 5.13 depending on if it's gas or diesel.

No it's actually a bronco and it has 44s on it now I guess I need to have it looked at professionally to find out what gears are in it. The axles are from an f250 not sure of the year tho

Pull the cover. There will be some numbers stamped on the ring gear. 41-11 would be a 3.73, 41-10 is 4.10. It's pretty simple.

it really depends on what the t-case is geared and how low you are wanting the final ratio to be. If its a trail/trailered rig only, alot of people leave the 4.10's in the axles and make up the difference in the transfer case. The final ratio you want will also depend on if the transmission you are using is a manual or automatic. I run a 3.8 t-case with 5.38's in the axles w/ 42" tires in my buggy...

I would like to drive it on the street some times so maybe the 4:10 will be okay next big step is lowering and making a new cross member and having a front shaft made and the drivetrain will be complete for now

Also 4.10s put a lot of stress on the trans and case with larger tires, depending on the application depends on if this is a big problem though. I wouldn't hesitate to gear it 5.13.
