Need info on beadlocks law:

I wouldnt jump to calling cops liars on the subject of beadlocks just yet. No has yet to pipe up about receiving a beadlock ticket. This whole thing started over some compmay using the phrase "DOT approved" as a marketing stategy, seems to me, that if its round and holds the tire on and doesnt stick out farther than the tread blocks, its all DOT aprpoved, i could mount my tires on 55 gallon drum halves.

Well

I wasn't talking about beadlock incidents specifically, just some LEOs. A cop is probably the last person I would ask about what the law actually says. Ironic it is.

OFF TOPIC - The lights on top of the Jeep Liberty Renegade are not allowed in WV right? I remember seeing that model there at a Jeep dealership without the lights.

Your auxillary lights that can be used on-road cannot be higher than the main headlights.. which is why they come with the caps on them. ;)

your only allowed two aux lights. the only descritption of where you can place is them is on the "front of the vehicle" i marked that GS at work, i can quote it monday when i go back if you need further proof.

i don't think you will hear anyone either.

it's been a long standing "bet" by a member on pirate that he'll pay money to see a beadlock ticket. to my knowledge, no one has claimed the money. it's been years.

I'm pretty sure I have found a loophole of epic proportions
i'm pretty sure you're the reason some of these laws are even neccessary in the first place.:flipoff2:

I'd bet

The vast majority of Cops don't even know what a beadlock is. On top of that, fake beadlock rims seam pretty common.

I mean really, (like my Ricky impression?) what is unsafe about an aired up beadlock?

You do not structurally alter the rim, you simply add to it...

BTW I'd sencond the beadlock ticket bet. Butt I wont pay improper equipment tickets....;)

I know I read it somewhere.. Maybe it was a Federal thing. oh well, you're right in the eyes on NC DOT..
