What speed was she sited at? What was the speed limit? If you want to save the attorney money she can go to court and ask for a PJC (if she hasn't had one in the last 3 years) or talk with the ADA and see if they will drop it to 9 over.

Years ago I represented myself for a speeding ticket and asked for PFJ. It was my first time in court and the drunk guy who started screaming at the judge was my favorite part. My PFJ was granted and I cut out of there quickly.

I would have her go to court and Speak with the ADA and get them to reduce it to 54/45 and plead guilty to that. 9 over wont get you any insurance points. That's the same an attorney will get you but you will be 300 bucks poorer for their service.

Spend a day in court dealing with one once, never again, they asked everyone who COULD NOT pay to line up and let them go first, then we went and they didn't care that I never had a ticket or that it was only 5 over, hurt my insurance for years, always just paid the lawyer after that, usually $150-200, never paid more than $300.

Sounds like she needs to slow the hell down. I’d say you’re going to need a lawyer for that one.
