Need muffler suggestions

I have a 2004 Yukon XL with the 6.0. What muffler would give me a good sound but not be obnoxious. This is my DD and my kid hauler so I don't want the inside drone to be too loud. Any suggestions?

Flo pro has a muffler made for the 6.0 in the hd trucks. I wish I'd went that route myself. I have a flow master cat back and the drone is horrible. I would imagine the magnaflow to be worse since it's a strait through style muffler but that's just a guess.
 
Since you have a lot of room to work with underneath then ditto the above.
 
I used to have a 2001 2500 with a 6.0. I installed a 2 chamber Flowmaster and abruptly replaced it with an oval Magnaflow full sized muffler. Drone was gone and the tone was pleasant. WOT it would make some noise but cruising around was just fine.

On the other hand, my 5.0 Ranger has a 3" straight through Magnaflow and let's just say you can hear me coming up the trail!
 
You're gonna laugh, but I've had good luck w/ the Cherry Bomb Turbo II from Autozone (I think). Not the one that is a straight-through glasspack, teh actual muffler.
It's only about $30 and sounds decent on my 22re... not ricy.
 
I'm running 2 Purple Horny glass packs... this is definitely not the route you should take though! Works well for me since I don't have a radio though.
 
Again, as many others have mentioned Magnaflow. I went through several exhaust setups on my 2500HD with the 6.0, but finally settled with a Magnaflow, and that is what I was most pleased with. Zero drone and still deep and aggressive sounding. I actually went through 2 magnaflows, first a dual 3" in dual 3" out, but a short case. Sounded good, but still had a little drone to it. Wound up with a larger case dual 3" in single 4" out and that was the best setup I had.

As mentioned Flo-Pro makes a muffler for the 6.0 specifically that is a drone killer, but it doesn't sound very aggressive.

We also just recently bought a 2008 Suburban with the AFM 5.3. And as anyone knows, the 4cyl mode is a drone machine with most aftermarket exhausts, but it had a Gibson exhaust installed and it handles the 4cyl drone very nicely and has a nice, mellow, but more aggressive than stock tone. Not as loud as the Magnaflow tends to be but still noticeable.

I've used those on several little 4cyl applications. It's a good "better than stock" sound and flow, without being annoying, but I don't think it would really fit what he is after on this Yukon.
 
If it were mine id stop at the local mom&pops muffler shop and ask them to install their off the shelf turbo muffler.
Around here it would cost you around $50 and they sound great on 6.0s with single 3" pipe.

@snappy I bet the Mustang sounds like an outboard motor doesn't it? :D Being that I'm so close to Cherry Point, I hear at least 20 a day and they all sound exactly the same....

@GCncsuHD Can you post a sound clip? I kinda want to hear a 6.0 with a Magnaflow before I try to decide between a Magnaflow of some sort or Borla XR1s. It's a tough decision!

with no cats, it actually sounds real good. It gets pretty raspy and poppy in the upper rpms but sounds like any other 4.6 at idle....
