I recently turned a small profit selling my f250, since then I've been doing small modifications to my dd (2003 double cab tacoma... prerunner). I love the truck and have put 80k on it since I got it. Right now I'd like that little bit of extra power and was wondering how I should go about it. I don't want to put an exhaust and intake on it that's going to make it sound like a ricer or too loud. I don't own a hatchback civic, so I'm not about that life.

So what would be a good, semi inexpensive mod I could do to give it a bit more power but without it sounding like sh%t?

Probably a good cold air intake, by ARE, & similar companies. You'll have to do the research & reviews. A "tuner", I've never used one, so can't suggest. Then the last could be exhaust [not loud]. Headers [ceramic coated], free flow through cat, muffler, & mandrel bent pipes. Sometimes you can pick up a touch, with a throttle body spacer, & or, larger throttle body. Each item has to be re-calibrated by the computer, & tuner, & some things might not make any difference. Each product may advertise 5-? increase in HP, but don't expect to gain 50HP, by adding 4-5 things. It just doesn't work that way. All together, might get you 20-25 [hear say], so think about how much that will cost you, & it WILL burn more gas.

I was thinking just a new exhaust and an intake would probably do it for me. I just need to find ones that don't add too much noise.
