I just bought Nod32 anti virus for XP and I can not get it to install. As soon as I click on the installer this error message pops up.

Any ideas?

Do you think you might have an infection? If so you need to clean it off before you install an antivirus. If not then take it back and get Norton.

It does the same thing in safe mode too. I probably have something since I was using AVG. I currently don't have any anti virus besides Malwarebytes and it's not picking up anything.

Glad you got it fixed!

I get pretty irritated with call center/help desk people myself. I used to run a help desk and it irritates me to no end when I call and they aren't doing a good job. :D

some help desk people are not actually computer people and the one thing they are doing is giving me a headache.

Here's something for yall to look over if you want. I don't have MSN Messenger anymore so why is that stuff showing up?

Messenger is embedded within Windows XP and I think Vista and 7 as well. It leaves little traces everywhere.

However, pretty sure both entries, "cab109791.cab" and "MessengerStatsClient class" are related to MSN Games. You can ignore it or uninstall MSN games active X controls. There may even be an MSN Games in the start/remove programs do-hicky that you can remove, though it's been years since i removed it so I could be wrong about that.

Here's another for yall...

During start up I get this message:

"Windows Product Activation, A problem is preventing Windows from accurately checking the license for this computer. Error Code: 0x800700c1."

After I click OK it takes me back to the log in screen. I can boot into safe mode but I have no idea what to do. I've been Googling for a solution from another computer for a while with no luck.

EDIT:
I tried start/run/regsvr32 regwizc.dll and regsvr32 licdll.dll. A message pops up for both saying "DllRegisterServer in regwizc.dll/licdll.dll succeeded"

It had no effect....

I'm pretty sure you have some sort of virus on the computer that has corrupted windows in some way. I see this type of thing a lot at work to which sometimes we can fix the issue and some times we have to reload windows. Try loading into safe mode with networking and run your anti-virus/anti-spyware software. You could also try doing some updates but I doubt it will work. If you still have the Windows CD you could try to run windows repair and that might fix it.
