I picked up a set of axles from Steve (!BIGAZZBURBN) on Sunday. They are sitting on Lee's trailer in my driveway, but with the transmission problems my wife's Trailblazer had on the way home I'm a little hesitant (read, I break the TB again I may be cut off ) to tow the axles and trailer anywhere to have the perches relocated.
It is a 14bsf and the perches had been relocated to go under a 1 ton truck, so I need to relocate them again to go under my 1/2 ton K5.
I have a Hobart 140 MIG welder, but I'm not confident enough in my welding to do something like welding structural stuff onto my axle. It is a 110 welder, too. Not sure if that matters much, but I know a 220 would get more penetration. If someone has a 220 welder they would rather use, I have 220 in my garage.
Anyway, would anyone be interested in helping me relocate these spring perches? And does anyone know where I can get some spring perches to weld on the axle? I would like to get the axles under the truck by the end of the weekend.
