need some help!

iv been trying to change the drop pitman on my steering box and i can not the the pitman off lol iv been pulling and hitting for over an hour anyone got any ideas for me? i dont have any kind of puller that would work on it i know if i did i wouldnt have the problem

Did you try renting a pitman arm puller from Advanced or Autozone? That worked for mine. Also you could try heating it up some and that will also help with getting it off.

AZ and Advance rent them. You get your $ back when you return it. I'd still throw some heat on it and then try the puller. If nothing else, let a propane torch sit on it for 20 min or so.

i had to beat the heck out of mine soak it with pb blaster and next day heat her up and BFH time

They are cheap, like $20 bucks. Take it home, use it, take it back and get your $20 back. I is a free loaner tool program, You have to put a deposit down becasue of all the un trustworthy people out there. Watch how much heat you use or you will be replacing the sector shaft seal.

yea i made up something with a steering wheel puller and torch and a BFH and all it did was bend everything lol i guess i will have to put the old steering box back on so i can drive to auto zone and try that puller tomorrow....its hard having to do this crap in the yard with limited tools lol
