Need some input on what to get for towing a trailer

So I work for a landscaping company and we have a 16ft v-nose trailer that we put our mowers in. As of right now we pull it with a ford E250 and it gets about 7.5mpg on one of the runs that we have to do. We are looking into getting something else that is a little better on gas. Would like to find something that would atleast get in the 10-15 range. What are your thoughts and experiences

Get a cummins with a dump bed then you can start hauling some rock or topsoil or mulch to go with the mowing, maybe make a little extra cash.
