gonna be making a three link kit for my cherokee in the future. my question is what do i need to use and on which side of the link ( body or axle). been looking and i see stuff all over the board. so if someone would give me a better idea on what is needed and why, i just like understanding instead of doing it cause someone said to. differences between polly joints (similar to stock), enduro joints, heims, jonny joints, or any other style that i have missed. pros and cons of each, and best setup for something that is mostly a trail jeep but does see limited street use.

I'm a heim guy but I've used Jonny joints before on mine. If its a heim, make sure you use at least a 7/8 shank to ensure it don't bend from taking a hard hit. I had trail gear creeper joints on my last xj (frame and axle end) but I didn't like the range of motion. I'm using 1 1/4" ruff stuff heims on my rig now but its a big dumb heavy v8 jeep buggy on 42s. The common belief is to stay away from heims if its street driven because of noise, but I did anyways and not considering anything else.

Chiming in...

Only pros/cons I have seen is that the poly joints,(Johnny joints or Enduro joints, etc), are less harsh on the street. The good poly joints seem to wear well. I haven't seen any strength issues from them either. Are they as strong as a 7/8" heim? I think so. Prob not as strong as an 1 1/4" heim, but I don't know absolutely.

I like the Enduro joint package. Putting a full set on a buggy now. If you are considering the poly joint route, I would personally recommend the Enduro joint. Def Johnny joints at the least. (not happy with the wear of several of the other poly joints I have seen.) No personal experience with the Dura-flex joints, but they seem to have good reviews.

If you are going to rock bounce, go with 1 1/4" heims!
