Need some steel

Dillon Supply has some pretty good prices. Just let Nathan (nsmith@dillonsupply.com) know what you need and he can get you a price.

I got...
1/2" 4x8 - $386.47
3/8" 4x8 - $290.00
1/4" 4x8 - $192.94
11ga 4x8 - $94.69

2x2x20' square tube...
1/4" - $93.63
11ga - $52.78

Those were for hot rolled. Not sure what sizes you are needing, but Dillon seems to be pretty good on prices. I got those prices on the 25th.

Hope that helps

I've got some 2X4x1/8 tubing, & 2 1/2 sq.x 1/8, used, but in great condition, just haven't had time to post it.
Charlotte/Gastonia area.

I might be interested if he isn't, how much do you have and what. Are you wanting for it.

I'll pop this back up.

I still need some steel, but don't need or want 20 ft tube sections, and don't need an entire 4x8 sheet.

I need 8 ft of 1x1 square tubing, not too picky on wall thickness
I need 8 ft of 3.5" square tube 3/16 wall----need this the most urgent
I need 10 ft of 2x4 tubing, 3/16 wall
I need maybe 2ft by 2ft section of 3/16 plate stee
l
and maybe some other bits and pieces, if anyone around wake county sells cut offs/scrap/supplies custom sizes

If anyone can help, I can come to you.

Thanks

When I buy whole lengths I get it from Chatham Steel in Durham off Cheek Rd. There is a place across the street that sells scrap (at scrap prices), I think it is J&D Recyclers. They have all sorts of materials there, but it is a crap shoot to get specific things.

That sounds pretty good. Hopefully they are open on Saturdays.

Thanks

They are open half day on Saturdays. That's where I recycle my cans. Very small outfit. I totally forgot about em...

They are so small they close when weather is bad. Including thunderstorms. Keep that in mind!

One thing I do is buy enough for free delivery on the route truck....IIRC, it's about 75 or 100 bucks. Though, I usually buy around $300-500 at a time. A lot easier and a heck of a lot less time than hooking up the trailer and mess with loading (usually have to back into two different bays (structural pieces and sheet goods). I will stop by, order and pay, get it dropped off in the next day or two.
