those are what I have sitting in my drive right now, lol. But you are right, they are a good dual purpose tire. I think I am going to go with some TSL's or some LTB's though.

I hate to say it (since you said you don't like them) but, BFG's are a great choice! I have a 96 v8 grand with a 4.5" Rubicon Express lift an 33x10.50 BFG mud terrains with an Aussie locked 44A rearend and it was a great set up for wheeling (I say "was" 'cause it has a new home next weekend). The 33x10.50's fit with some trimming/grinding and give you good ground clearance. A word of advice, IMHO, save up the money to go long arm from the get-go, I always found myself wishing I had. Anyways, this setup is great for a DD/fourwheeler! I drove it everyday, and did pretty much everything in URE no sweat! Anyways, hope this helps, good luck, and have fun!

Super Swamper makes a 31x10.50 and 32x11.50 tsl radial that does very well in the dual purpose world, they run around 135.00$ ea. I ran a set years ago on the street, tread life was better than expected they also done very well in the Florida mud and sand.

IMO get the pro comp muds until you upgrade the axles to support more traction, it's better to spin a tire than break an axleshaft if you know what I mean. Down the road once it is lifted and beefed up I would go with the TSL radials. As others have mentioned in this thread, they do well on pavement and will not wear out too fast. The siping for wet roads is also an advantage if you plan on rock crawling.
