A really good friend of mine just got his moving date screwed up by a secondary contingent closing (buyer's buyer screwed up paperwork). He was going to have about a week to get everything moved, and was just going to do a couple trips with his enclosed trailer. Now he has to move in 1 day, and that would be a heck of a lot easier if we had a second enclosed trailer. The trailer would only be behind my truck, driven by me, and all loading and unloading supervised by me. Only things being transported are household items (he's already moved all the heavy crap to my shop ). I will pickup and dropoff trailer.

@Ron this is the same guy who let you borrow his trailer last year, so if you know of a trailer...

hope you find one! uhaul/budget has pretty savory 1 day rental fees on their big trucks

Yeah, we'll probably end up doing that if we can't find a trailer. I just hate the hassle of renting stuff.

they ALWAYS find a way to shaft you in some way or another. one time i returned a uhaul dolly with a budget truck (the uhaul one was still tied up with unloading). The uhaul manager literally had a melt down about the uhaul trailer being behind a competitors vehicle. She charged the card on file an extra day as punishment. Spent a few months finally getting in touch with corporate legal office and proving never signed a contract specify such a stipulation and neither did i authorize the charge. etc etc. anyways got the money back with an appology but their hassles are never fun.

I have a 5x8 you can borrow. It’s on the west end of Shelby though. Let me know if you want it.

Shit...I wish I could help. Dont have anything. But I'll pay it backward...Ill rent him a uhaul for a day, its less than it would have cost me to move what I did last time....plus the paint is baking now and it needs a way home come april :D

golden gate trailers in concord has some pretty good deals on cargo rental trailers. Or at least they did 3 years ago

Thanks, but I'm sure he'd say no to that. Just the way he is. I will find out though. Sounds like a fair trade to me, haha.

Thanks for the heads up. If we end up renting something, it will probably be close by. He's moving from Mt. Holly to Gastonia.

Wth would anyone move to Gastonia?

Fair point, but it's just a stepping stone for them. Selling a mid-grade house while the market is high, moving into a much cheaper house to pay off some debts. Meanwhile looking for land out in the country to build on and have tremendous equity to springboard off of. I'm pretty impressed he talked his wife into it honestly.

Tony's ice cream and cheap hookers to name a few reasons!
Plenty of tattoo parlors also...
Don't be hating on Gtown.

My wife is from the Gashouse, so I am well aware of its culture. There are some nice areas of Gaston county, havent found any in Gastonia. There are some nice neighborhoods, but they are all surrounded by ghettos or crack houses.

And Im not hating on visiting, but moving there is a whole different conversation.

Wow. This post is so ridiculous, I don’t know where to start. I guess I just lucky that I actually lived this long growing up in Gastonia, surrounded by ghettos and crack houses. [emoji849]

Matt, if I still owned an enclosed trailer, your friend would be welcome to use it. Believe it or not, some decent people actually arises from the ashes of the gashouse and become productive members of society.

I expected a much more rational statement from you, I’m lost for words as that’s a very ignorant one.

@jeepinmatt if a real truck, ya know, with an 8’ bed:D would help I can throw the top back on and you can come get it.

Can’t offer an enclosed trailer, but I got a flat trailer and a strong back if you need one.

Too bad I dont own this or I would let you borrow it. It's sitting in our shop right now.

Sorry I'm no help.

Yo @tw89yj , wanna eat lunch at RO's bbq this week?
It's kinda in a "Bad" part of town, but the damn food is awesome.
Sarcasm was involved in this post.

Heck I got 2 trucks right now. That's almost 14ft of bed length :flipoff2:

Thanks. I have 2 open trailers, but talking with him this evening, it now looks like we will be packing up on Saturday and unpacking on Tuesday. If it doesn't rain, well be fine. I'll probably end up putting 2 trailers of someone else's crap in my shop for a couple days...
