My wife has a 2002 Grand Cherokee. I noticed the other day while following behind her that her tail lights work fine, but when she hits the brakes, the passenger side light goes completely out. The stop/tail light is the same bulb, and like I said, it works for tail lights, but goes out when she steps on the brakes.

I replaced the bulb today, and it still does it. What do I need to check here? Both the bulb that came out looks good, and the new bulb looked good as well. I can't figure this out. Is there a relay or something that has gone bad?

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks

Brian

my wifes doe sthe same thing, i think they should have a recall on it. if i put in a freash bulb it will work for a while. i belive it is just corrosion in the bulb socket. i see alot of cheerokess w/ this problem

On the wife's Celica, it's caused by the ground wire getting loose. Pop the taillight out and loosen, then retighten, any screws in there...

Of course, they'll have some thing to tell you,

" Bring it in Sir, we'll take a look at it for you......."

and 5 hrs later @ $95 an hour, "Sir, we have our best guy on it, he may be onto something......."
