Im supposed to be leaving tomorrow afternoon for Harlan, KY and my buddy hasnt gotten back with me about borrowing his trailer. Shitty thing is that hes known for 2 weeks and still hasnt said anything and just casually tries to avoid the subject.

After 9 hours of wrenching on the truck today to fix a problematic clutch, im stuck with a rig sitting in the driveway and no definate way to get it to Harlan.

If anyone in the Boone/Hickory/Lenoir/Mtn City/Johnson City area has a trailer I could borrow/rent for the weekend that would be a huge help. It needs to have trailer brakes because towing the rig puts my 4Runner right at its limit.

dude i would deff hook ya up stretch with my dovetail but im in the opp.. direction....................
somebody help him out.

Thx man...oh yeah...It needs to be a hitch/ball style trailer not a gooseneck.

I will be up all night doing schoolwork so I can go on this trip...so just call 704-491-2306 or IM at GnarkillKP83 if you have anything that can help me out. Im just pissed cuz my boy has dropped the ball and knows that we have been busting our asses to get this truck to Harlan. I didnt run 2 weeks ago, charging problems last weekend and clutch problems this week. Now its running and driving like a champ and it might end up sitting in the driveway.

tow dolly

I rented a tow dolly from the UHaul place in GSO a couple of weeks back. It cost about $49.00 including insurance. Just an option. Scott

Thats going to be my last resort. Its still going to be around 100 bucks cuz I need it for a couple of days.

I MIGHT have a trailer thanks to Will @ Rockbottom4x4 and Jesse @ High Country.

No way I would pull a lifted, locked rig behind a lifted 4-runner... that's a really bad idea in so many ways, just waiting for an opportunity to show itself.

I'm not saying you need a 1-ton, but damn..

Never had any towing issue what so ever when towing with the 21ft Featherlite I usually use. Tandem axle w/ brakes on each axle. It hauls just fine and well in control. Problems come with dumb drivers.

The truck im towing is bone stock with only welded rear. Why would it being lifted/locked etc make it any worse to tow?

Because you're talking about a tow dolly now. the welded rear makes it not want to turn, trying to jacknife the tow rig.. then you add in 99% of tow dolly's not having any brakes, the towing vehicle beging higher (handles curves not as well as it was when rated to tow xxx lbs) and... that's what led to my statement.

Your description of the trail rig made it sound more modified than I guess it is, my mistake.

Statesville is about 50 min from boone. 50.00 and its yours, of course, if you break, you buy. Call me 704-880-8855.

16' w/ ramps and brakes.
