whats your thoughts on these 3 choice?

i am looking at bfg A/T tires

toyo open country A/T 2 tires

and goodyear Duratrac tires

i am wanting the duratrac tires but am worryed they will wear out to fast i want them to last atleast 50K miles and they will be going on a chevy 2500 and running a 265/70/17 in E rated. and it will see 90% onroad driveing

I have the BFG A/Ts on my '11 F350 and love them. I had them on my last truck and liked them then as well. I've had various ones and I always go back to the BFG A/Ts.

I do like the Cooper ATs as well but the BFGs were on sale and I just couldn't pass them up. I have about 35k on my current set and have at least 20k left on them. I'm on the road about 75-85% of the time

I got the duratacs about 3 months ago and love them I have the same size but load d on my tacoma just tires cut me a sweet deal on them

If you need the offroad traction, go with the Duratrac's. If you don't, go with one of the other 2.

I've never gotten more than 25k miles out of a set of anything (including 90k mile rated Michelin's on the "underpowered" diesel Passat), but I do enjoy driving :driver:

they will be on a suburban 2500 to hevey to do offroading so offroad traction will not be the case here it will only see beach and dirt driveways and mostley hwyway driveing i don't want to spend over $200 on tires that won't last atleast 50K and the duratracs are 236 a tire and bfgs are 226 a tire and toyos are 215 a tire

Got my duretrack for 196 I just told them that's how much they where at sams and the matched it

i think duratracs are out the ? they are 236 a tire at samsclub and 236 from 4 whelparts to much for a tire i have no clue how long they will last i love the way they look though when i buy my next jeep i will put som on it

i am thinking i may just go with Michelin LTX M/S2 they are $213 a tire and have alot of review of people getting 70,000 miles plus out of a set and i want a tire thats gong to last me a good while not something that will wear out in 40K or less miles i really wanted a/t tires thought

check out the Kelly Tsr...I've got a set on my wrangler and are wearing very well.Should eclipse 50,000 with no problem.

I'll second the TSR's. They are owned by Goodyear and look a lot like the Duratrac's but can be had for much less $$. I've put 20k on mine with a ton of wheeling and they are holding up great.

I just put a set of 285/75/17 e load nitto durra grapplers on my 06 ram 2500 tow pig. In person they look more aggressive then on there website. There rated at 4200lbs a pop. I like them alot and have feed back from a guy in DE that uses them on his ram on the beach and they work fine. There more aggressive than the ltx. Look into them before you pull the trigger.

i won't run any thing by firestone or made by firestone under a deferent name same gose for nitto tires i hate them

I vote for Bfgs. Been through several sets and still love them. About halfway through the set on my 2500 avalanche. 285/16 E rated. 20k on them and I drive it hard.

Michelin's will shake if they are E rated. Been though several sets and usually have 50% chance the tire isn't round and will shake.

I price matched one company's online price, and a large tire store in knightdale will honor online price quote from another company.

Got my 285's for $198 each.

A friend has procomp extreme a/t load range e with a trad warranty as well. Seem to ride great on an f250.

Here are a few other options that are have higher load ratings and life warranties.

Look into the LTX A/T2

Im on my second set. Got about 85k out of the first...the second set has 65k and still over half tread. On a diesel 250.

Think I paid right at $780 for 4 mounted and balanced
They are E rated and smooth as glass also.
Plus Michelin owns BFG so to say you'd never buy a Michelin and then recommend a BFG is like "I'd never drive a chevy truck, buy a GMC"

Another vote here for the Michelin LTX M/S. I had two sets of A/S on my Dodge CCLB 2500 and both sets made >70k miles before replacement. My buddy is the manager at a Discount Tire and swears that customers are getting even more miles out of the M/S than the A/S.
