Hey guys I am in need of some broken axle shafts. I would like to get a hold of some on the very cheep.
FREE if possible.

Here's the skinny: I teach a metallurgy class at a community college. I need some cool samples for harness testing, annealing, and plain ol messing around.

Trying to get the class engaged.
Going to cut them up heat treat.
Polish, micro etch.

Want be able to return them for scrap unless you want a bunch of small random pieces back.

Any help would be great. The round diameter would work great. Thought about gears and such but to hard to make test samples out of em.

I think we can provide you with a few broken or well used shafts shafts in the name of education.
 
I have a few I can give you if you can get them from Raleigh.

If your on the way or by East Coast I would gladly come by. A few would last a while. We teach 2 separate classes right now every semester.

I live about 30 miles past ECGS and I work about 20 miles past them. Maybe could meet you closer depending on what I'm doing the day you come.
