Currently in the Philippines and found a recent ad for the new 4Runner (Fortuner).
It's finally here – the all-new Toyota Fortuner | Autodeal
Comes with 3 diesel options. Stick standard and auto and 4wd available.

Recently noticed a new Mahindra truck and car being sold here. The truck, in 4-door, manual, loaded with power options, limited slip rear, very nice interior, ac, 5 speed and turbo diesel for about $20,000 ! Looks similar to a Ford full size truck.
Auto transmission and 4WD options coming. Very nice metal work, very nice paint and wheels. Maybe the tractor
places in US will start selling them? Ha Ha

Gas engines are very rare here.

Mahindra planned to sell diesel pickups in the US, started working on it in 2006, got very close, and then gave up and folded the venture in 2011. There was lots of drama with the private distributor network that was supposed to import and sell them, it was all very strange. Then Mahindra built a tech center near Detriot right after that, so who knows what they're doing at the moment.

That's interesting. Someone I know in the wide world of OEM suppliers made a cryptic comment about non-truck Mahindra stuff in development, but wasn't able to tell me any more. They supply globally so I didn't know if it was vehicles for our market or the Mahindra home markets. I figured home market but I might be wrong about that now...

Because we need more non-descript small cars instead of fuel efficient compact trucks <SMH>
