24" wide, 1/2" capacity press brake. I've been doing a lot of plate bending lately, and I've been thinking about making something like this, but I found this one for the right price. It works in my press, so I don't have to take up floor space for a new tool, which is also nice. It can bend anywhere from 0-90 degrees, and can bend 1/8" aluminum 24" wide.

I made sure to test it with some 1/4" before I committed, because thats about the biggest thing I will be bending. Once I got it home, I had to try something a little heavier. Here's a few pics of it bending some 5/16" thick, 8" wide scrap plate. Took about 37 tons to get it done. Im very pleased so far.

You could make some killer rock sliders with that.

Nice :)

24" long sliders at that!

Very nice. Did you purchase new or used? Any info.

Nice !!! I'd like to find one of those that size! Be careful on the rough edges, weld or cut boogers can take a lot more force to bend and also be very hard and can chew up the die..

Got it used, but it looks like it's never really been used. They can be bought new at Northern Tool for about $350. Just search for press brake. They have a 29" version for a 40ton press, but the construction is the same, its just wider. If I really need anything wide done, it will probably be 3/16" or 1/4", so it still wouldn't be capable. I deal with a metal fab shop down the road pretty regularly, and they can bend anything for a reasonable price. But I want to be able to fiddle with brackets and such in the wee hours of the morning.

Thanks. I sanded down the edges smooth and covered it in grease for that reason.

I'm considering getting it heat treated while its still fresh, so it will hold up longer, but I have no idea how much that costs. I may wait and see how much use it gets and how much wear it shows after a few weeks.
