A group of friends and I have formed a new club. We are calling ourselves "Rock Corps 4X4" Just a small group as of now. We have leased a piece of land in McDowell County. It is very easy to get to, with access just off of I-40 in Marion.
We have been working on developing some trails, and some obstacles. Much more to do in that department!
We have no definite dates as of yet for an open invite, but it is something we want to do in the future.
Just wanted to let the folks here know, that at the very least, there will be another place to go wheeling a couple times a year.

Man, I gotta say, I am pumped about this. Great job. I can't wait for an open invite. Is it anyone else from this board that went in on it?

Rock Corps 4X4 had another work day this past Saturday. This was our second big work day.
The first work day we had a Dozer, and a big track hoe. Mostly clean up and repair, and some trail opening.
Saturday we had a mini track hoe and many saws. We had 12 members in attendance clearing trails. We have some easy stuff, and some stuff no one has made yet....At least not without the help of Mr Warn!
Still much do do, and areas that we have yet to even touch.
We are all excited about how it's shaping up, and also about what has yet to be developed. There is only one trail that has been given a name. Several members took one look at it and said "No way!" so that's it's name. Can't wait to see some of the big boys on it! Of course, it is one we have yet to open, but it will be!
Just thought I would throw out another teaser. We look forward to our first open invite, but as of now, no date has even been discussed, so much more to do!
 
Awesome, this isn't far from me. The wife's family lives in Marion. (I still love her though)
 
Hey Chip, next time you guys have a work day, let me know :lol:

Im in Hickory for most of the summer, couldn't find a job, and have really nothing to do. Anything to get me out of the house is a good thing, and Marion isnt that far away!
 
sounds great, what type of terrain have you found? any rock to speak of?

No real room for a camera when cutting and dragging trees
