new door speakers help

im gettin some new door speakers for my 01 cherokee. i got a sony stereo in it now. is it ok to use kenwood or a different brand of speakers? thanks

Yep, a speaker is a speaker. The head unit sends the signal the speaker plays it. Brands don't matter. Get what sounds good to you.

Make sure they have the correct OHM rating. incorrect Ohm rated speaker can damage your head unit

Anything from the aftermarket is going to be 4 ohm. Don't worry. And anything you can get is likely going to sound a damn sight better than what's in the doors right now! That said, it's been a long time since I've kept up with what's out there. If you're really looking for good sound, find some Memphis speakers. If you're just looking for better sound, Pioneer is always a good bet. There's a couple of guys here who still work in the industry. Maybe they'll chime in. Whatever you do, though, stay the hell away from flea markets!

all depends on your budget and how you like your music to sound. Plan on spending around 100 to 150 for some speakers that will be worth your time. JL Audio would def be my recommendation.
