hey guys new here, im not allowed to post anywhere else i dont reckon, but anyway, i have a set of 5.13 gears sitting in my basement for my truck waiting to be installed, but i cant find any good place to get it done, i am in the statesville area, but anything around hickory, mooresville, concord, charlotte would work, but i would prefer to stay away from 4wheelparts, heard too many horror stories,

anybody know any good shops to recommend? need to get this done in the next couple weeks,

OK- I'll do it, Andy Zuber at Carolina Rockshop, best around, A mile from 4wp towards uptown, opposite side of the road. You can PM here by the screen name Zubz.

thanks, i had someone mention that shop already, same guy i heard about this site from, i guess ill give them a call
 
I'm in statesville too. Theres a guy here loacal we get to do that kind of stuff. Cheap and good work. Let me know if you want his contact info.

btw: everyone has these horror stories of 4wp and even i have had bad experinces with them, but . . . . they have been super cool with me here recently, theres a new guy there named Aaron and he has been strait so far. I had them regear my truck 3 years ago, bought the warranty. The rear end went out, I swapped in a 14 bolt and he let me used the credit for the 10 bolt warranty toward regearing the 14 bolt, i was out $7 when all was said and done.

Granted it was probably there fault the 10 bolt they regeared died in the first place, but like I said my experiences with Aaron so far have been pretty good.

All that being said thou I would still recomend Andy of CRS any day over them, no question about it, and would take my Z71 to him if I hadn't have gotten the warranty back in the day when i origionally had it regeared at 4wp
 
does mintons automotive do this stuff? They are a great local shop in Granite Falls, not sure if they do gear swaps though

You REAAAALLLY need to ditch those wheels though man :gay:

you've gone WAY past his shop if you drive a mile from 4WP...:)

(it's only 1/3 mile)...and you can swing by South 21 on the way!!!

thanks, already called up carolina rock shop though,

and i know about the wheels, figured i would get some crap for them here, they werent my first choice but i got this entire set of wheels and tires together for cheaper than i was gonna pay for a set of tires for my 17s so when these wear out or i have some extra cash its going up a little more on 39.5 iroks on either these wheels or my 17s, and ive actually grown attached to these wheels, its the 3rd set of that style wheel ive owned (set of 16s on my old 2000 XJ on 33s, and my brother had them on his 2500HD)
