hey guys. Just moved down here from Boston about a year ago. Had to sell my bronco when I moved but just acquired a Jeep WJ for scuba stuff. In the middle of lifting it and on the hunt for new tires for it. May be a while since the 225/75's on it only have about 3k miles on them when I bought it. Hoping to find some good spots to run around with it when it's done though.
In Raleigh, and I'm a grad student at State

Reid! be nice, welcome to the forum tbone.

thanks guys. Hated selling the bronco, but got an offer I definitely couldn't refuse. I actually like the WJ a lot and it works a lot better for what I need it for as a DD.
Goal eventually is to put a 4bt in there but i need to study up on the swap laws down here. I put a 6bt in the bronco, but it was old so there was no rules against older engines and what not. Gonna be interesting to say the least. Goal now is to get the 4" lift on there and find a good set of 235/85/16's to put on there. So if anyone knows of a set of tires going begging let me know :-D I loved them on the bronco and since I won't be doing any wheeling on loose stuff and rocks the skinny's work a lot better for highway and the dirt roads for me

I put a 6bt in the bronco,

Had to sell my bronco

you're not helping your case very much. sounds like it was cool rig.

Swap laws in this state:

Gasoline

1995 or older, no questions get asked.

1996 or up, must be a newer model engine. Also, you'll have to to get OBDII programmed to match vin numbers of vehicle body as NC inspections the the vin numbers have to match whats on the registration. (from what i understand)

Diesel:
last time i looked into it, i think all you have to do is have the vehicle retitled as diesel.

i could be wrong, im sure someone will chime in and correct me where needed.

the programming is easy, finding the 2004+ 4bt is going to be the challenge... Engine bay is rather small. May wait a few years to get a bit more than 7 years buffer for them.
Tires are more pertinent. Enough chit chat, Bruins just won so off to celebrate Boston style!!!!
