Howdy folks,
I work for the US Navy on base teaching Machine guns and Jet Boats.
Been looking for a group of like minded individuals to go wheeling with and share some brews in the Wilmington Area. I just bought my second TJ, first was a 2000 TJ SE, when I was done with it I had 33 SS TSL's, skyjacker 4" lift, safari snorkel, ARB bumpers, headers, dyno max exhaust and a super chip. I used to wheel a lot in north Florida, (Jacksonville). Well that little 4 banger and auto tranny started to shit out so I decided I was done Jeeping for a while.
Well about a month ago I wanted a 4x4 to cruise the beach, light trail riding and be my DD, so I bought a 07 Land Rover LRE SE, I put 265/65/R18 GY Silent armors and a 1 inch rod lift..... and that's when I got the infliction again.... I mean the LR is a Great offroad truck, and top notch daily driver but..... There is a certain allure of a Jeep.
So I started shopping around for a 04 TJ, picked one up last week for a damn good price. It is a 04 TJ Sahara 5 speed 4.0 i6, with a 2" spacer lift, American racing wheels (Not my favs but will do for now) and 31x10.50x15 BFG AT's. Aside from fixing the blow sub I haven't done anything to it....yet...
I could rattle of a list of crap I plan to do, but won't.
I am looking for a club in Wilmington Or even Jacksonville ( I live in Holly Ridge) that meets occasionally and rides a few times a month. I am married and have two kids (One is 3 in April 2011 and the other is almost 2 months). Most likely the 3 yo will be my wheeling buddy!
