okay whos the joker that decided to do the new opening page this early in the morning on a sat LOL??? looks great but damn if i didnt think i went to the wrong site and tried to type www.nc4x4.com about 3 times before i realized it was the forum lol
GOOD JOB LOOKS GOOD:beer:...i do kinda miss the pic of the 4x4crossbronc tho
 
That's funny.
I just have a bookmark that goes right to the main forum index, I never see the front page. It could have a big sign saying "Ratty is a douche" and I'd never know..."

I kinda like it.

I like Dave's idea, let's put Ratty is a douche on the landing page. :flipoff2:

I glad someone mentioned it, I never go to the landing page either.
 
Uh oh. We've been found out.

This is going to be a bit of an experiment going forward. First off, I am well aware that most people go straight to the forum when they come here. As soon as I type "NC" into my browser it autocompletes with "www.nc4x4.com/forums/" every time.

The goal is to create a landing page that is pretty to look at, presents information clearly and concisely, and works as a companion to the forum, providing a place where we can feature the best forum content in a simple, easy-to-navigate way.

I like the forum a lot. But the signal to noise ratio is very low. Because of that, I worry that some events, news, etc don't get the attention they deserve. I'm hoping the new front page can start to address that.

I decided to go ahead with a soft launch yesterday because it made some troubleshooting easier, plus it gives you guys a chance to look at it and give us feedback.

There will be some new features coming in the next few weeks, but in the meantime I'd appreciate any ideas, suggestions, or criticisms you guys have to offer. After all, this thing has to work for you if it's going to be successful.
 
great idea. i saw it yesterday an thought why havent we been doin this all along.

www.therangerstation.com used to have a really great layout. it had links to its forum stickies and tech articles right on the landing page.

i just browsed by...looks like theyve changed some now.
 
I just learned about the CC Fish Tourney. Thanks, you may have just cost me ANOTHER Hatteras trip.:lol:
I think it looks great. But I still want some nc4x4.com gear.
 
The ad for the Back to the Future Tacoma is pretty good. A SFA truck from the factory is a good idea. Too bad they probably won't build it for the states.
 
What, like t-shirt and coffee mugs or something?

t-shirts and hoodies. i would buy one of each for sure.

that said... i do remember the past incidents with asshats flashing nc4x4 stickers way back in that day and the negative publicity it may or may not have caused.
 
Possibly I'm just blind but I can't find a link from the forum to go to the landing page. Would be nice to have since there is now info and articles on it and not all of us go to the forums through the landing page.

I'm game on the shirts and hoodies as well. Patches would be cool too so we could add them to jackets or the like.
 
We'll get something more... obvious.
