Ok folks, I know I've been gone a while, but I'm back and here to update you all on a new place to eat while in Uwharrie!

My in-laws at the Mountain Market have been really busy over the past year remodeling the store and are very, very close to opening up the Boondocks Grill.

For those of you familiar with the Mountain Market, Boondocks will be located on the left side of the building where the fishing/camping stuff used to be.

As far as I know, the hours will be about the same as the store (6am-9pm). I will have to keep that updated b/c it might change once we get everything in order.

The Boondocks Grill will serve breakfast, lunch and dinner. There will be just about anything you can think of, the way they are talking. Anything from hamburgers, steaks, ribs, bbq, chicken, pizza, seafood, etc. They will also be able to serve draft/bottled beer & wine.

They are also in the process of creating a parking area in the rear of the store so you guys with trailers can finally park down there.

I will keep everyone updated with the status and grand opening!

good to hear from you Corey! Hope all goes well with the new venture!!!

Can't wait to try it. When I did get a chance to stop at the MM once, I had a great meatloaf sandwich and a cup of ice cream. Good prices, good food. I like that combination. I'm looking forward to trying the restaurant!

Sold me some raw hot dogs once so I could take them back to camp and put them on the fire. They didn't have anymore in the cooler for sale, so just got me some from their stash in the back. I'll def stop by for a bite to eat this spring!!

Here's how I read this post, lol.

Sold me some raw hot dogs once (aw crap)so I could take them back to camp and put them on the fire (whew!). They didn't have anymore in the cooler for sale, so just got me some from their stash in the back. I'll def stop by for a bite to eat this spring!! (sweet!)

We do what we can to help out our customers.

We had a few fella's from Ft. Bragg come down towards the end of last season (one of the last weekends the trails were open). One of the guys broke something on his truck and I called around for him until I found someone with a welder (M&M Auto on 109) that could fix it on a Saturday afternoon.

M&M Auto rocks, too. When we crushed the tranny cooler lines on the $30 XJ, they were the closest people open with rubber hose and clamps. That hose and clamps are probably still on the XJ, wherever it is these days. Good guys.

Here are some updated photos of the store and new parking area. I'd love to know what you guys think!

Sounds better than yanking a sandwich out of the cooler, looks great. Can't wait till wheelin season and to stop in and get a bite.

Awesome. No more long trips to the food lion anymore. What time does this place close?

Our normal hours during the summer are 6am-9pm. If business is still happening at 9, we have been known to stay open longer.

That is Great. I would love to have a hot breakfast in the morning after camping.

We'll be waiting for ya!

FINALLY! I'll be a regular! Get the big screen TVs? Get em online for the Masters! Screw that NASCAR crap! Oh... no offense to you NASCAR fans... Got my Sam Adams? Don't want to have to walk next door for a beer.

Yessir, we are going to have 3 TV's in the place. Not sure what bottled beers we are going to have, but I'm sure we'll accommodate.

Ok ladies and gentlemens, here's the update.

BOONDOCKS GRILL WILL OFFICIALLY BE OPEN WEDNESDAY APRIL 7, 2010 AT 6am

Yep, there it is! We've dotted the t's and crossed the i's and our first day of business will be Wednesday. This past weekend we fired up the grill and fryers and had a bit of a taste test. I know there were several people that came over to try out some of our fixin's.

(It's funny, even if someone isn't that hungry, all you gotta do is tell them "Free Ribs" and they come a'runnin!)

Anyway, I know they are calling for a little bit of rain later this week, but I'm hoping we have another great turn out for trail riding as it's supposed to clear up by the weekend. Hopefully the rain will knock some of the dust out too!

Make sure you guys come check out the Boondocks Grill on your next trip to Uwharrie! :bounce2::driver:
