Can anyone recommend what trails not to ride/to ride in Uwharrie with a pretty much stock Cherokee with 31's and 4" lift. I have a map but have only rode the Falls Dam and Wolf Den trails so far. I usually have to ride alone and do not what to have any or cause any problems by being where I should not be. Thanks!

When are you going? Stay off Daniel, other than that you should be good on about anyother trail there, they all have bypasses.

Post up when you are going and most times you will find a riding partner.

PS If going on a Saturday find the HOTDOGGUY at the big mudpit, well worth the time for the best hotdogs around....

From your post, I can tell you're a stand-up guy! Welcome to the forum and snappy is right in what he said except URE changes big time when it's wet! Just find somebody at the Outpost or come find me and I'll help you find some body to follow that will take care of ya. There's no shame in doing the buddy system to stay out of trouble.

also look for the Rowan/Cabbarus co meet and greets. alot of us in this area get up once a month and hang out and also ride together......

A bunch of JK Jeeps are going to be there on Saturday April 23. We're going for the entire weekend. Look for a yellow lifted 4-door JK with a 150lb Great Dane sticking out the top.

Stay away from Daniels if riding alone.

See ya out there!

Im out there most weekends and would be happy to wheel with ya

you will do good anywhere you go. find a rig that looks equal to yours and ask if you can ride in the group. Heck, i went to ure by myself the first time and accidentally did daniel by myself with a cherokee on 31s. i thought i was going to go number two but i did it. partially because i couldnt read the map eldorado handed out. it is always fun. happy trails

I ran all of URE with that setup for years. I'd skip Daniel until you have lockers though. With lockers that setup will do Daniel pretty easily.

The rest of the trails are pretty tame.

Thanks guys. I really appreciate the responses! I will have to look for someone to wheel with when I go. The only other places I have ever wheeled is Brown Mtn. , Richlands Gap.

your rig is about the same as mine, I asked the same as you and mostly go alone with wife and kids. like the others say stay away from daniel for now and I try to hook up with a group or another but if you go on the weekend there is always someone near. good luck and have fun i think in some ways its more interesting with a more stock rig its like the guys with the full out rock trucks get board.

I didn't make it to Daniel during last years rides, so I'm not sure what it's like difficulty wise today. IIRC, the ledge(s) below the cutback & multi-lines further uphill would be your main issues going up... you could always enter from the topside and go down

If it hasn't rained in a couple hours , don't forget a dust-mask (bandanna if'n you prefer the gangsta look) or you'll end up with a case of chronic brown booger!

bolicsa81 and woodpd... come check us out at 4x4everyone.Just click on the link in my sig and sign in.No need to "wheel alone".
