New Rock garden at URE crawlers needed!

I have not been out there, and I can not go for a couple weeks, but it's now my understanding that this is a huge pile of rocks that , as of now, is pretty much just that...a big pile that is not really ,for lack of better words..drivable...? Its now my understanding that the Track Hoe is gone...but will return on Monday..and be used to work to make this pile of rocks more suitable/usable.

Just wanted to let you guys know the latest developements as I have heard them.

Owners say to come on out...check out the rocks/ride if you want to..but offer up feed back. Other than that, I dont know much about anything.

So..Jay,Paul, or others that are interested in this...I dont know what you should expect, or what will come of any ideas. Go at your own discretion. This post is as far as I am involved at this time.

Personally, I think the rocks should be spread out into a trail format. Say a 1/4 mile trail with spaces between rock sections.

Spoke w/ the new owner Lee today... Turns out I was the only one to show up so far. Lots of potential, but there are some big rocks that will need need to be moved if anything smaller than 40's wants to play. There are several spots that would swallow my 37's. Played on the garden for a good 30 mins and my impression is that it needs be larger (which is easy to say when it's not my money building it) and it seems to mainly to be one large peak w/ most possible lines being off camber (which is a issue for me since my rig is a little tall and narrow). Overall, I think it's a hell of a start...

Here are the only few pics I got since no one w/ me could take pics with a iPhone. Hopefully Darin will post up some of his...

Cool pics! I can't go until my AC is installed in my house and he is still working. I'm still trying to make it tomorrow....

Damn I wanna go play!!!! Why must I be in Illinois

I think Dylan has a good idea on putting the rocks in sections spread out along a trail. It would allow more vehicles to be able to ride at one time ,and the obstacles could be small and big both

HELLO
Thanks to everyone who came by today to look and play on our new rock garden. I appreciate your opinions and look forward to more. I had a good time watching Big Fish crawl and also the guys from VA. I still would like to see a rig with 40's + on the rock if any one can come by tomorrow let me know.

Glad to see you here Lee!

Best thing you could do right off the bat is to take the 4-6 large boulders on top of the mound and move them into the side, on Spook's side, of the mound. Put them in the hole next to the white boulder! That would allow more rigs to be able to crest the mound. I know you guys have put a lot of work into this already, but, my personal preference would be for a longer run with less height. A run the length of the mud pit with a section of rocks, some dirt, a section of rocks, a section of dirt, etc. The way it is designed now you limit the number of rigs you can have on it at any one time vs with a longer run you could have more rigs in action at one time. Also, the rigs with 33" to 37" tires out number the 40"+ rigs 10:1. A rock play area that is more friendly to more rigs will bring more people! Just mt .02

I completely agree with what John said after being out there yesterday.
