Thats is all

Yea, just think of it as the craigslist of off road. Hookers, blow & exotic pets are fine....but guns are bad mmmm kay?

Thanks..

The rules... http://www.nc4x4.com/forums/announcement.php?f=42&a=10

clearly say....

NO posting of guns for sale - This includes ANY type of gun. Don't post it. It is a liability issue that the board will not accept.

and

NO Controlled or regulated items - Basically if you need to be licensed or are required to fill out paper work to buy OR sell it, DON'T post it here. This includes explosives, regulated chemicals, etc. If your not really sure if you item meets this criteria. DON'T post it...

 F U N N Y !!!

But...You can't argue the facts behind not allowing firearm sales on the board. The liability is not worth it.

I just don't understand the hypocrisy. I can buy a blow torch, a skill saw or a home built tube buggy here (all very safe items) but a pellet gun is a liability to the board? c'mon, that's just silly.

When you have a board, you can make your own rules. But this is our rule, on the advice of a lawyer. I don't like it anymore then you do, I'm a gun nut also, but we have to protect ourselves.

O.K. can you say LAWSUIT?

If Rob's lawyer sues, he has to sleep on the couch though...

BTW for the 11nty people that have pm'd me asking the why I posted this, there have been not 1 not 2 but 3 yes to all the necks EARRRRRNHARDT many guns for sale topics posted today by 3 different users.

1 poster even invented a new caliber to sell

Hmmmm...

NC...."4X4"....com...

"4x4" Is that a new gun?

Thought this site is about 4x4's! Guns fine...jus not needed here?

4x4= off road stuff! why is it such an issue to keep it that simple??!!!

Yeah I saw one of them, all I could do is tell them it wasn't allowed.
Simply put, read the rules, follow the rules, or leave.

IT'S A FIREARM!!

Firearm sales are heavily governed. When you buy a firearm from a dealer there is a phonecall placed to Washington DC unless you have the proper paperwork, which comes from the BATF....... It's best for an internet forum to just avoid this altogether. Pistols are governed more than rifles/shotguns.

Just to clarify your comments- Your a resident of NC and so am I. I can sell you a rifle with no paperwork whatsoever. I have a license to carry concealed, you can sell me a handgun with no paperwork whatsoever. Thats not what I'd call heavily governed.
Makes no difference really, but it should be mentioned.

What I'd really like to discuss is this:
Hundereds of internet boards allow firearms sales. Obviously it can't be a big laibilty or none would allow it. A simple disclaimer is all it takes....

I'm posting about this because I feel that a firearm is part of my essential offroad gear. I normally camp when I offroad and a 22revolver always goes with me. I've used it to harvest rabbits, tree rats, dispatch snakes and for general peace of mind. I wheel on private land, UNF rules may dictate otherwise.

Think about the guys who offroad in Cougar country! Those cats kill kids every year. A firearm is essential offroad gear for some folks. Luckily we don't have that problem in NC, but the point is still valid. Guns and 4x4's do belong together and they should be treated like any other offroad tool.

You guys can debate this all you want, I'm a lifetime NRA member, own several firearms myself. What it comes down to is, we're not going to change this rule, period. That's all I'm going to say on this subject.

No problem....I could never figure out how to use a 9mm as a hub wrench anyway.:flipoff2:

There are thousands of sites to score weapons......I like it here for the tech, friends, & parts.

I'm done.

NUT

Rob is not only a gun Nut, He is just a plain old "Nut".:driver:

Them things will put yer eye out!

Just ask the kid on "A Christmas Story".

Not to stir it, but I find it funny that you can buy a compound bow which has a max effective range of just about every pistol out there,.....just something to think about,....not gonna allow weapons to be sold, don't allow any weapons to be sold, registration required or not;)

I am just curious, since it has been brought up...
What is the lawsuit potential based on?
Something like, Dave buys a gun from Dick on NC 4x4, he goes to use said gun, and it explodes in his face b/c Dick scewed with it, Dave sues Dick and the board? Or, Dave goess on a shooting rampage, kills 100 people, state asks where he got it, NC 4x4 comes under the boot for providing the transaction opportunity?

I agree, it is just as deadly a weapon, but you also do not have to have a permit to own or purchase said bow, they are not covered by fedreal firearms licensing laws.

the point is to avoid any possible "percived" fire arms trafficing on the board.

As said before, it is a 4X4 web forum, If you feel weapons are part of your 4x4 experiance, by all means start up your own 4x4 and gun forum. If you wanna buy and sell guns, there are such forums out there, Google is your friend.

If you feel this forum isn't something you wish to particapate in because of the no firearms rule, the logout tab is in the upper right hand corner of your web browser, use it as you see fit.

The matter is closed.
