New S&W handcannon

"Smith and Wesson boasts that the .460 S&W is the highest velocity revolver cartridge in the world, firing bullets at 2330 ft/s"

That's probly w a 6" barrel but the energy of the big, heavy bullets is devastaing at about any speed. I'm suprised at the smallish amount of flip when they fired the 454 and 460.

I anxiously await the actual pricing..

all the big Smiths I have seen lately have all been $1,000 to 1,400. I want an Alaskan in .500 but have no use whatsoever for it but alas i still look at them and want.

If you ran out of ammo, or missed the bear, you could probly repel it or knock it out by hitting it in the head w that BIG revolver!

Per the video in the link MSRP is $1200.

I thought is said *they think* Hoping it will be a little less. Would be a nice mate for my desert eagle .50AE

I've got a 500 and a 460, both in 8 3/8"...no practical use for either...and both primarily sit because they're so damn expensive to shoot. If you don't reload your own stuff, the 500 is $3+/round to shoot...the 460 isn't much better. But I had to have them, because I could.
