Looking for new shocks for my 99' XJ to smooth out bumps on highway & offroad. I have Rough Country shocks that came w/ lift, there not gas charged.
Would gas charged shocks be better?

Any suggestions?

Bilstein 5100, Edelbrock IAS, etc...

Step up to a monotube shock..

And try not posting in every tech section.. you can go back and edit - delete your post..

Softer shocks will help like Old Man Emu but not much help is out there for ride quality on a Rough Country lift.. I mean the first word is "rough"...

Did you get full leaf packs? what size lift? Height may be your problem more than shocks if the control arms are at too much of an angle... Fill us in on some details...

Yes, full leaf pack, 4.5" lift, New lower control arm, 265/70/16 Kumho.
I like the ride on road, problem is wife is pregnant and baby doesnt like it. Now i'm stuck riding in her van.
The shocks seem to be little stiff offroad, works better w/ out shocks when going very slow.

Old Man Emu

How are the Old Man Emus for ride? My CJ5 is brutal right now. I think it has an add a leaf.
