I went to the dark side and traded my tacoma.

I bought this jeep a month ago. It needed a few little things and some serious cleaning. I got a couple things done but have a lot more on the list.

It is a 97 TJ, 2.5L base model. daily driver.

I bought it with:
35" cooper tires, 3" rancho lift, and 3"body lift

Rear axle had 4.56 gears but previous owner did not install the pinion correctly it has been moving and ruined the gears. Since i had to get new gears I changed to 4.88.

front axle was missing gears and shafts. I have swapped whole axle and now I just need to match it with the rear 4.88 ratio.

Thanks. They are part of the fiberglass hood. All one piece.

You know what brand hood it is? Have any close ups of how the flare goes?

I have not noticed any writing on the hood but I will check it out and I can take some pix tomorrow. It was on the jeep when I bought it.

4.88 I think is perfect with 35's. I had 4.56 but 4.88 is better. I get 16 to 17 mpg. I drive bout 70% of the time on the hwy. I think the power is just fine. 4.0 would be nice but I am very happy with the 2.5. I cruse at 65 on the hwy. Much faster and I think the engine starts working harder then the speed gains. I pulled my 17' boat wit it last week. I did not need to get on the hwy but it pulled just fine. Gotta give more breaking distance but accelerating was good. Hope this helps. Congrats on the new jeep.
