My family and I moved here (Winston Salem) a few months ago and I’m finally getting around to making the time to get the Jeep dirty again. We moved here from Lake Charles Louisiana in January and we are happy to get away from the stinky swamp mud, sick humidity, crow sized mosquitoes and see some elevation higher than 15ft. I guess you could say I’m just happy to be here.

I’m looking forward to getting out to Uwharrie soon. I’m off work on Sun/Mon so hopefully I’ll get a chance to meet some of you on those days. I just replaced my 32” Cooper STT’s with some 33” Dick Cepek Mud Country’s and I’m working on some additional clearance. I Have some spring spacers I started to install but I’m still a rooky wrencher and I realized I was getting in above my skill and comfort level. I did manage to install the Skid Plate so I guess that’s something. If anyone could direct me to a shop with reasonable prices I’d appreciate it. I called Tom’s Off-road and Kelly’s Bar’s and Grill’s but they want $300 plus alignment. I can’t quite grasp the idea of paying $300 plus for installing a $60 part. If I can’t find something a little more reasonable I’ll give it a shot again. Thanks in advance for any input.

I'll post some pics when I figure it out. I thought I could attach it in the post.

yeah...kelly's and Toms both have high prices.....ironically, they both have new showrooms too! Tom's was a lot cheaper and easier to deal with when it was Leon working the desk in the corner of that shed next door!

Welcome to NC4x4. i'm here in winston, so if you ever wanna meet up and head to uwharrie, im always lookin for an excuse to go. dont worry, i wont be leaving you beind at the obsticles, i run 31's on my land cruiser.

Best local place to you i've found for tires alignment etc on the cheap is Toby's Tire on union cross road,
Welcome to Wallburg, I've loved calling it home since '95

Welcome to the area. I'm sure someone would be more than happy to help you with the spacers. If you can't find anyone let me know before you decide to go pay a shop and I might have some free time I can help. You'll find most of the people here are friendly and helpful.

:beer:Thanks for the welcome everyone. I'll give it a shot again this Sunday if I can make the time. If I cant figure it out I may take you guys up on the offer to help. You bring the knowledge, I'll supply the pizza and beer. I'll keep you informed.
Thanks again,
Eric
