New to the four wheel drive trail riding Hobby

Hey! I resemble those remarks about dents, LOL!

I have some small dents from Uwharrie, most are from Big Creek (first full size other than JC to go through the trails!), some are from the Flats.
Uwharrie and Grand Overland District would both be fun with a stock Power Wagon! We've had my 4th gen at Uwharrie several times (stock and modified (and umm... "clearance enhanced") and had some stock and modified 3rd gens (and Whitey's very modified and VERY "clearance enhanced" 3rd gen, LOL!) out there as well. There is definitely a tendency for eastern trails to be tight and technical but, wheeling a whale can be done! Heck, mine was on the trails with 100 or so miles on it on the third day I had it, fresh off the showroom floor! (for the iced/snowed over January 2013 Uwharrie workday)

I think this is the most damage showing pic I have (snagged the bed and bumper on a tree), got a nice crease down the passenger door since this pic though:

What you can't see is that both side mirrors are held together with multiple wrapping of black duct tape, LOL!

Not trying to dissuade you from your choice, just showing what can happen when the Trail Whale decides to run with the Jeeps, lol! Overall I love my Power Wagon! It does better offroad than even I had anticipated and still surprises onlookers!

(NOTE: very little of the denting occurred on the trails at Uwharrie National Forest, most are from a mixture of other trails)

You said you were new to 'the hobby' but have a well trail beaten 4wd explorer? So you are not. Not sure why you would take a full size pickup on a tight tree lined trail system like uwharrie. All you'll do is beat it up, for no reason, except to get attention and say you did it. There are hundreds of better trail rig choices. Now if you have tons of money, then I guess you can wrinkle up a $40k truck and not care. Lots of good fire roads in the foothills and mountains that may not even require 4wd and offer great views and spots to camp. If you go to uwharrie, and camp near anyone, you'll be surrounded by drinkers. Most people out there don't respect others and make lots of noise well into the evening. Not all people, but most. If you want to do some rock crawling at uwharrie then get a cheap Jeep and pull it behind your truck. You'll have tons more fun.
