I just purchased a 2003 F250 6.0 4x4 automatic extended cab long bed with 250,000 miles and a 4" mbrp turbo back exhaust and a K&N air filter on it for a screamin deal I couldnt pass up. I've owned a couple of diesels before but didnt stick with them long enough to really get technical. Before any kind of major issues happen..although from what I can tell it runs great I just drove it round trip 600 miles today and half of that with a cherokee behind it and I did it in a tank of gas and ran perfect. But just looking for any ideas or suggestions. Like delete the EGR and replace the head gasket or studs...which these things might have already been done..this thing runs good. Any help would be much appreciated..thanks

I've got a 6.oh that I've put 200k on so far...

I'd flush the coolant and replace w/ a good elc thats cat ec-1 rated.

ARP studs are eventually a must, and I'd either delete the erg totally or just weld the y-pipe shut to block flow of exhaust through the cooler.

Good luck, they're good trucks if wel cared for. Almost forgot, be sure to change the factory fuel filters every 15k miles!
