New welder mm250

Buy it. They are good ones. If you don't like it, I'll trade ya a Hobart 175 and $150 for it.

A little finicky to get dialed in, some complain about the harsh arc and hard starts. I played with one using .045 dual-shield. It worked well. If I could pick one up cheap, I'd consider it.

The 250 in my garage was bought new by my dad around 2000, I can't recall the exact year, but I remember it was before I moved out. I would guess it has had several thousand pounds of wire ran through it. He built ornamental ironwork with it for over 10 years. Plus numerous Jeeps, Toyotas, motorcycles, and farm equipment came through the shop too. It has had several liners and a set of guide wheels or two, but the machine itself has been flawless all this time.

I have had mine for a little over 10 years and I really can't complain. Early on I bought a 15' lead and gun from HTP and then last year I had a voltage drop in the shop that caused every diode and capacitor to go out. A local welder repair shop was able to get me all the parts so your not forced to buy from snap-off .

I may have made a mistake. I assumed the mm250 was a Millermatic 250. Are you talking about the Snapon 250? If you were talking about the Snapon stuff then my above reply has no bearing.
